Every year the UK throws away 900,000 items of clothing. To highlight the environmental impact of 'fast fashion', we're teaming up with Miquita Oliver and top designer Ben de Lisi to create Fashion Favours, a unique fashion collection made entirely by volunteers using recycled clothes. The best designs will be showcased at an exclusive fashion event, and every item will be auctioned online to raise money for children and young people affected by HIV. Get involved!
During November, volunteers will create new clothes from old at 4 regional workshops with designers Kesh, TRAID, Ethical Fashion Forum and Junky Styling. Unfortunately applications for workshop places are now closed. But you could still be in the fashion show by uploading your creations to the Fashion Favours virtual wardrobe. Anyone can recycle old clothes and add them to the Favours fashion collection. The best designs will be picked by our panel of experts and could appear on the catwalk at our London fashion show or in the pages of top fashion magazines. Click here to get involved.
