The Makin' It Real Awards: win £1000!
The Youth Action Network is on the hunt for England’s most fabulous young volunteers - and there’s cold, hard cash up for grabs. Yes, the Makin’ It Real awards are back, and there are prizes awaiting groups of young people who have had the determination to put a plan into action, despite any obstacles they may have had to overcome, and whose hard work has really made a difference to the lives of people in their community.
First prize winners will get their hands on a trophy, certificates and £1000 towards their project. There are cash prizes for second and third place, too, and you can even nominate a youth worker for a special award.
To give you an idea of just some of the projects that could enter the Awards, projects nominated for Makin’ it Real 2006 included:
Providing activities for local children
Tackling issues around housing and homelessness
Fundraising for a media suite at a local community centre
A local regeneration project
Basically, the Awards are open to any group of two of more young volunteers (aged under 25) who are based in England and have taken an idea and made it real.
So, if that sounds like you – or someone you know – it’s time to pipe up.
Nominate now!
