Volunteering in Tubridge Wells gives me a feeling I've really helped

I volunteer with a friend at a kids' club By Anna
I only started volunteering a month ago, and since that time I feel that I have achieved a lot. I am now part of a kids club, and I am involved with two after-school groups that involve children and young adults with various disabilities. I am part of a weekend fun club, where again the participants have various disabilities. Last of all, I visit a home for disabled adults, and help feed them and talk to them.

I feel that over this short space of time, I have developed many skills, especially around how to handle various challenges when dealing with people with disabilities. I’ve gained self-confidence, which has helped communicate far better with the people that I am working with.

I especially enjoy going to the home, as I feel part of one community. I do this with a friend, and I really enjoy going every week. It gives me a feeling that I have really helped the people that I have worked with, and made their day happier and more enjoyable.
