WORLDwrite

Sadvi Sharma is a volunteer for youth charity WORLDwrite, which challenges prejudices and stereotypes, through encouraging young people to make films and see the world from a different perspective.

Sadvi has been volunteering for WORLDwrite’s Breaking Boundaries project, which allows volunteers to share their experiences about London through short films. She has been volunteering with the charity for three years and now works with new volunteers, helping with their induction process. She has also been working to help improve the organisations newsletter.

WORLDwrite is a youth lead organisation. It has a volunteering action committee which gives its members a chance to share their ideas and feed into the decision making process. All members of the committee are in their early twenties or younger.

Through volunteering at WORLDwrite Sadvi says she has been given the chance to develop ideas and had some great experiences through having her articles published in the WORLDwrite newsletter and public speaking opportunities. She has had the chance to develop skills, amongst her peers, in a no pressure environment and found the experience a huge confidence boost.
