Channel 4's Battlefront
Battlefront is all about campaigning – a brand new project from Channel 4 to help young people get their voices heard as they campaign about issues they really care about. How will it work? We'll be working with 20 inspiring campaigners, all aged 14-21 to help them spread their message, gather supporters and make change happen. They've got real causes and big ideas, from stopping knife and gun crime to promoting random acts of kindness. And to help them on their way the Battlefront campaigners will get top mentors, expert advice, their own website and even a Channel 4 TV series.
So far we've found 19 campaigners but we're still after one more so to find our 20th Battlefront campaigner we're running a competition on battlefront.co.uk. Any UK resident aged 14-21 with a great idea and the motivation to run a campaign for at least six months should apply. Entry closes 1st October.
The campaigns with the most public votes will be put forward to the Battlefront judges in October. Come and have your say by voting on the competitors.
Battlefront will launch on 1st September 2008, so log onto to battlefront.co.uk where you can keep track of the activists and immerse yourself in their campaigns. There will also be everything you need to start up your own campaign using the expertise provided by our top mentors.
