Up to £10,000 to run your own project
If you’re sick of the site of local wasteland, or keen to boost wildlife in your area, GreenPrints could be the answer. GreenPrints is offering grants of up to £10,000 to projects designed by young people which will have a significant environmental benefit within their local community. We’re not talking about a half-hour litter-pick here. These Flagship projects should involve a significant amount of time and effort, as well as being realistic, good quality, and be in response to a clear local need.
Flagship projects could include planting trees in a public wood, building a pond for fish and insects, or creating a community sculpture on a cycle track. It’s up to you.
Need examples? How’s £9000 for a six-month project run by young people from Bournemouth University’s Ecological Society? They’ll transform a derelict piece of land into an outdoor meeting place where local people can meet and enjoy the wildlife. As well as getting the benefits of a lovely outdoor space, volunteers will get skills in public consultation, tree surgery and woodcraft.
